“I was doing voiceover for Hollywood films in Hindi. I was also doing it for animated films and documentary for TV channels. Around nine years back, there was a sudden boom in viewership of South Indian films and the demand led me to this dubbing industry, because I was already voicing for actors like Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to name a few. The studios noticed me and got me on board for dubbing south films,” he shares, adding further that the first biggie that he dubbed for was the SS Rajamouli directed Magadheera. “I was Ram Charan’s voice in the film,” he smiles, and adds that his dubbing stints include Chirutha, Kabali, Yevadu, Yevadu 2, Hyper, Heart Attack, Dhamu, Businessman and I.

He however informs that he has never really spoken to any of the actors who he dubbed for in Hindi. “Funnily, I have never directly interacted with any of them, but I have gotten feedback through studios and producers. I would love to interact with the actor before I work as that would bring a fresh perspective to my voice,” he admits, and says that he dubs for 20 to 30 South films a year. “And may be 20 more films from the West,” he avers.

Next up is the Vishal starrer Chakra Ka Rakshak for Sanket and he believes to have found a certain level of comfort when working with Vishal. “It's always fun voicing for him, his towering personality adds to the character. Especially when he plays a tough cop or a military officer. I've voiced for him in quite a few films including Ayogya, Aambala, Pattathu Yanai, Villian, Irumbu Thirai. I try to match his style, which I think is very easy going and his intensity for action scenes,” he signs off.
