After a long lull at the box office, two massive films - Rustom and Mohenjo Daro have set the cash registers rolling. The clash between Hrithik Roshan and the Akshay Kumar starrer was much talked about.

Initial box office reports suggest that Rustom has taken a lead over Mohenjo Daro. The opening of Rustom is aroung 35-40% whereas Mohenjo Daro has opened around 25%.

While the Akshay starrer has had a good opening, the same cannot be said for Roshan's movie, which has opened below the mark. Interestingly, Rustom, despite releasing in only 2300 screens has more occupancy as compared to Mohenjo Daro, that has released in 2500 screens.

If the trade reports are to be believed then it wouldn't be wrong to say that Rustom has taken an opening which would be among the top three of the year, and this is good, considering it was clashing with Mohenjo Daro.

Though the Hrithik Roshan starrer is at par with Akshay Kumar's movie at the single screens, in the multiplexes, latter is comfortably leading. The key is Mumbai, Delhi / UP and East Punjab which are the bigger markets forming over 60% for films like Rustom and Mohejo Daro and all these markets has Rustom ahead.
