Avengers: Endgame re releasing with additional footage a ploy to beat Avatar's lifetime box office collection?

Avengers: Endgame marked the culmination of a beautiful decade-long journey and now, there is some amazing news for diehard fans of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Kevin Feige revealed to Screen Rant that Avengers: Endgame will be re-releasing with some additional footage that includes a post-credits scene, a deleted scene, a little tribute and a few more surprises. The re-release will take place next week. This means that MCU fans will again flock the theatres for a few minutes of footage, but one wonders, why the re-release?

One major reason for this marketing ploy could be because Avengers: Endgame is extremely close to beating the lifetime box-office collections of James Cameron's Avatar (2009). Currently, Avatar stands tall at $2.788 billion while Avengers: Endgame is $45 million away from beating Cameron's directorial with a total collection of $2.743 billion, so far. In spite of X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Men in Black: International bombing at the box-office, they did take away screens from Avengers: Endgame. This tactic was earlier used by James as Avatar was re-released and earned $10.7 million, in North America.

The marketing ploy could also be to help boost the box-office numbers of the next installment in the MCU, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Tom Holland's film takes place immediately after the events of Avengers: Endgame and hence, fans might go to the theatres one more time to relive Endgame and have a fresh nostalgic perspective for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Would you go to the theatres yet again to rewatch Avengers: Endgame? Do you think Avengers: Endgame can dethrone Avatar as the most successful film, ever? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
