Panipat: The Great Betrayal, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, stars Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The movie will be seen clashing with Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar's Pati Patni Aur Woh. In an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, we asked the Panipat team what do they think about the clash, to which they said that they are very much aware of the clash but it is inevitable.
Ashutosh said, "There will be a divide [of the audience] for sure. You have two films that are very diverse, I love the trailer of the film, and I am very excited for them too. I have seen the original myself, and now this has Kartik, Ananya and Bhumi, and they look good. But I feel it might be a rare case where people might see both movies." Keeping up with the optimism, Kriti added, "There are only 52 weekends, so if it doesn't clash with this, it will clash with something else, so that is okay."
Arjun shared, "Also if you see at the upcoming weekends, such clashes are happening. It is inevitable. We can only hope that people like and come to watch our movies." Lastly, Kriti concluded, "Thankfully both films are very different. Sometimes when there are two comedy movies clashing then that becomes an issue."
Meanwhile, Arjun, Kriti and Ashutosh even compared it to the comparisons being made to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani.
