Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar, starring the stalwarts of industry Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt released today. The movie is inspired by the lives of real life 'Gully Boys', Divine and Naezy, and according to the Mumbai lingo, it is 'bohat hard'. As the audience and critics continue to marvel over the film, we got in touch with the dynamic duo to check their knowledge of 'gully' words, and trust us, we were surprised as much as you will be.
When Pinkvilla threw words like 'bantai', 'pantar', 'vatakle idharse' and more, Ranveer who is already a pro with these terms, allowed Alia to decode it for us and was the umpire who decided if Alia got it right or not. Gully Boy, on the other hand, is estimated to mint a colossal opening day figure, if trade analysts are to be believed. The movie has opened to a good occupancy and trade analyst Girish Johar pegged the opening day figure to be around Rs 15 crores. 
This is the first time Ranveer and Alia have come together for a movie. The two have complimented each other well in the movie where Ranveer plays the role of Murad aka Gully Boy, while Alia plays Safeena, an aspiring surgeon and Murad's one and only.
