After completing the shoot of his upcoming film Enemy, Vishal is set to don the director's hat for Thupparivaalan 2. The upcoming film is a sequel to Mysskin's 2017 blockbuster film, Thupparivaalan. However, after his fallout with Mysskin, Vishal has taken over as actor-director for Thupparivaalan 2. The Chakra actor has reworked on the script and will begin the first schedule of the film in London. "We are waiting for the lockdown to relax in London. We were supposed to shoot in December, but thanks to lockdown. I had to rewrite the script because I had a fallout with my director," Vishal revealed in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla.

Vishal further revealed that this is not how he had planned his debut direction to be. "Actually, my debut direction was supposed to be next year. My script thing was actually a very different scenario... it is about the 7 stray dogs, one cat and a horse. Humans are there but it is about the stray dogs. When I was working with Mysskin, I never expected I would have a fallout with him but every film is my baby, I can't ignore or leave my baby there. So I took it up and decided to direct it. I thought to prove it as a director. So we have done rewriting and waiting for the lockdown to relax in London," the Irumbu Thirai actor further spilled the beans about Thupparivaalan 2.

To unversed, director Mysskin went on an explosive rant against Vishal on social media and media events over budget issues. Vishal also took to his social media platform to address the issue. He expressed confusion with the turn of events: "I still wonder why does a director, who specifically wanted to write the script in Canada and UK and spent the producer's money to the tune of close to 35 lakh for the above expenses including travel, accommodation etc... after having started shoot without proper planning of location hunting, after having spent close to 13 crore... why would a director opt out of a movie midway?"

The sole purpose of the statement is not to tarnish one's image but is only to make sure that nobody falls prey to such people especially Producers

Mysskin then responded to Vishal at an event. The director claimed that he wrote the film to help Vishal overcome his debts. "I already had a producer who was ready to fund the movie. He had even given me an advance. But, Vishal himself insisted on producing it," said Mysskin.

Later, the director went off-board and actor Vishal, who is producing the film under his home banner Vishal Film Factory took over the role as the director.
