2020 can rightly be called a year of awakenings. Ever since the lockdown was first announced in March last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have all battled different struggles and have had immense learnings from this journey. Now, in a few days we’ll clock one year from the time that we were all locked up in our respective homes. Last week, Pinkvilla had reached out to a few TV actors including Karan Tacker, Aly Goni and Rashami Desai to know about their experience and learnings from the last year.

Today we spoke to the lead actor of the hit TV show, Anupama, Sudhanshu Pandey on the same topic. Here’s what he had to say. “I think more than learning, we have unlearned a lot of things, as we had been used to a certain lifestyle where we have been ignorant about a lot of things. And I think all that ignorance that piped across the globe has resulted in all the hell that we have gone through in the last one year. So I think the learning has been that we should respect Mother Earth, more than what we have actually been doing,” says Sudhanshu.

The actor adds that the human race has become very greedy. “It has grown so much that we have forgotten that this planet is God’s gift to us. If the planet doesn’t exist, we don’t exist too. But I think many people have learnt how important it is to keep our lives as simple as possible. Personally, I have been simple right since the beginning. I follow my puja path 3 times a day, and because I am a Brahmin by birth I follow everything to the T. I am a pure vegetarian and follow a very disciplined lifestyle as well. That is something that comes naturally to me, but there are so many things that one can avoid doing in our daily routine. We need to make sure that the smallest of things are taken care of, and if we all start doing that it grows multifolds, and as a result we’ll be taking care of our surroundings and our Mother Earth. That’s how we can protect ourselves and our generations to come. We just need to put our mind to it,” Sudhanshu signs off.
