A film that was touted to be one of Bollywood’s biggest action flicks of 2019 is Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War. The film released on Gandhi Jayanti and managed to break box office records on its opening day. Owing to the massive fan following of Hrithik and Tiger, War opened to huge numbers and managed to make Rs 51.50 Crore on Day 1 at the box office. Fans were eager to see Hrithik and Tiger battle it out on the big screen and it also got the advantage of holiday release on Day 1.
However, that advantage fizzled out in Day 2 and War’s box office collection saw a drop. Hrithik and Tiger’s film witnessed a fall in box office collections on Day 2 of 55 per cent. Coming to the exact numbers of Day 2, War collected Rs 22.50 Crore at the box office and the total box office collection went up to Rs 74 Crore. Despite the 55 per cent drop, War has emerged as one of the biggest films of Hrithik and Tiger’s career as none of their previous films have earned Rs 74 Crore in just 2 days.
The box office collection of War is expected to grow on the weekend as the holiday advantage will go to the film. Also, the word of mouth will spread and it will lead to a positive impact on the collections of the film. Directed by Siddharth Anand, War has 4 action directors who have choreographed each action sequence with precision and Hrithik and Tiger have nailed each of them. The songs, Jai Jai Shivshankar and Ghungroo are trending chartbusters and are being loved by their fans. It will be interesting to see how the box office collections get affected over the weekend.
