In the late hours of April 15, Salman Khan was seen making his way out of his house for the first time after what unfolded on Sunday morning. In a big shocker to the entire country, two unknown gunmen opened fire outside Salman's Bandra residence, and one of their bullets even clinched a wall of Khan's Galaxy apartment.
Addressing the same fiasco, Salman Khan's family has now issued their first statement. Read on to know what they said.
Arbaaz Khan releases statement on behalf of the Salim Khan family
Calling the incident very 'disturbing and unnerving,' the long note shared by Arbaaz Khan read, "Our family has been taken aback by this shocking incident that took place. Unfortunately, some people claiming to be close to our family and pretending to be the spokesperson have been making loose statements to the media saying it's all a publicity stunt and the family remains unaffected which is not true and these views should not be taken seriously."
The note further clarified, "No member of the Salim Khan family has made any statement regarding this incident to the media. At this time the family is helping and cooperating with the police in the investigation of this untoward incident. We have faith in the Mumbai police and we have been assured they will do everything in their capacity to protect and secure our family."
Who had initially claimed that Salman Khan and his family were unaffected?
In a video message given to Zoom, businessman Zafar Sareshwala, who happens to be Khan’s friend, said, “Salman was in the house when the attack occurred. One shot was fired at the gallery where Salman and Salim Saab stand. They’ve done this to terrorize and scare us so that they could boast. See, we shot guns at Salman Khan’s house, we escaped, and now you keep Rs. 50 lakhs ready.”
He had claimed, “The family is not scared of what has happened, Salman was at ease, Salma aunty was normal. Salim Saab went for a walk because he refused to be terrorized. Even the Mumbai police commissioner called him and said, this is the best reply; you’ve basically finished their whole effort.”
Reportedly, two suspects have already been nabbed in the case.
