As many already know, Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam are joining hands once again for a massive flick. The film’s casting initially had named Dulquer Salmaan, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha Krishnan in the leading roles, but later on, it was reported that they walked out. Now, a few reports are doing rounds that Dulquer and Jayam Ravi have joined back.
However, according to our reliable sources, Dulquer Salmaan is not joining this Kamal Haasan starrer. Moreover, we also heard that Jayam Ravi is also busy with his pending projects and will not be part of the film. However, there’s no confirmation yet on reports of Jayam Ravi back in Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life.
Dulquer Salmaan not returning for Thug Life
Earlier, according to a report by DT Next, there were speculations that Dulquer Salmaan and Jayam Ravi would be returning to play their respective roles in Thug Life after initially walking out of the project. Moreover, it was also reported that Silambarasan TR, who was speculated to replace Dulquer, would also be part of the film but would be cast in a different role.
However, these speculations can be debunked now with Dulquer not returning for the Mani Ratnam flick and Silambarasan himself expected to replace him in the movie. Alongside, according to a report, Jayam Ravi would also not be coming back to the project due to his other film commitments with projects like Genie and Kadhalikka Neramillai.
Furthermore, the film Thug Life is expected to resume shooting in Serbia after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections are concluded. As Kamal Haasan is busy with the election campaigns right now, the makers opted to postpone the shoot, with a speculated climax scene expected to be shot next after he returns.
Dulquer Salmaan’s next
Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in 2023 with his Malayalam film King of Kotha (KOK), directed by debutant Abhilash Joshiy. Though the film was a major hype before release, it did not appeal much to critics or the audience.
The actor is now set to appear in the film Lucky Baskhar, directed by Vaathi fame Venky Atluri. The film is expected to be a financial drama, with DQ playing the role of a middle-class banker. The film also features Meenakshi Chaudhary in the lead role.
