Sidharth Malhotra dropped the first look of his next film Marjaavaan today and the poster, without a doubt, has created a flurry of excitement among his fans. The actor, who was last seen in Jabariya Jodi alongside Parineeti Chopra, sports and intense look in the poster. It also features Riteish Deshmukh as a dwarf. Playing the female lead in the film is Tara Sutaria who is Sidharth's love interest. While the film has already created a buzz, it won't be enjoying a solo release at the box office.
Turns out, Marjaavaan will be clashing with Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Bala at the box office later this year. The films which are slated to release on November 22 this year are starkly different content wise and audiences will be spoiled for choice. While Marjaavaan is an action-love drama, Bala revolves around a young man who is suffering from premature balding played by Ayushmann.
Given Ayushmann's choice for unique scripts, audience's expectations from the award-winning actor are naturally quite high. While Sidharth did not have a great beginning at the box office this year, with Jabariya Jodi tanking massively, looks like Marjaavaan may just be the respite the actor needs.
This year has seen quite a few box office clashes happen. The latest one was the multi-starrer Mission Mangal and John Abraham starrer Batla House clashing on August 15. While Mission Mangal has performed brilliantly, Batla House, too, has raked in a good amount of money.
