"How's the josh?" "High sir!" has been on everyone's minds as they flocked the cinema screens, this weekend. It's none other than Uri: The Surgical Strike which released on Friday, i.e. January 11, 2019, that has tugged at the heartstrings of Indians, owing to its sensitive subject. Starring Vicky Kaushal as Major Vihan Singh Shergill along with a strong supporting cast of Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and debutant Mohit Raina, Uri is based on the surgical strike led by the Indian army against Pakistan as a retaliation for the 2016 Uri attack.
This Aditya Dhar directorial has been soaring high at the box office. Not only did Uri see a good opening day collection of Rs 8.25 crores, but the movie also registered a big first-weekend collection, not looking to stop anytime soon. Sunday saw Uri earning Rs 14.50 crores which is massive for the film. The total first-weekend collection stands at Rs 35 crores (Friday - Rs 8.25 crores, Saturday - Rs 12.25 crores and Sunday - Rs 14.50 crores).
Uri is already declared as a hit at the box office and is working like a charm at the domestic market which is nothing but great news for its lead star Vicky!
