Captain Marvel is at the numero uno position even in its second week. As per THR, the movie earned another USD 69.3 million in North America and USD 119.7 million overseas and the total is whopping USD 760.2 million. For the unversed, the movie is the Marvel's first female-led superhero movie and its serves as a lead-up to the highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame. The report also suggests that if the trend continues then the movie will enter the USD1 billion club.
In terms of BOC, the movie has already surpassed many superhero pics, including Justice League ($658 million), Thor: The Dark World ($645 million), Iron Man 2 ($624 million)Suicide Squad ($747 million), Captain America: Winter Soldier ($714 million), Doctor Strange ($678 million), Man of Steel ($668 million), and Ant-Man and The Wasp ($623 million).
Talking about other movies which released and getting competition from Captain Marvel, Paramount's animated family pic Wonder Park whose budget was $100 million received second place with USD16 million.
CBS Films' teen drama Five Feet Apart is at third place with an estimated USD13.2 million. It was released in 2,803 theaters and the movie earned nearly double as it was made on the modest production budget of USD7 million. Another supernatural movie, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is at number 4 with USD 9.3 million.
