Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s year began on a good note as their film, Kabir Singh released and won the hearts of the audience. The film was released last month on June 21 and is into its fourth week now. The story of the film revolves around Kabir Singh played by Shahid who is a medical student in love with a girl named Preeti. After her father refuses to acknowledge their love and marries her off with someone else, Kabir sets out on a journey of self destruction.
Shahid and Kiara both received massive amount of praises for their performance in the film. Coming to the box office collection, despite being into its fourth week, Kabir Singh continues to rake in moolah. On day 22, Shahid and Kiara’s film managed to rake in Rs 2.25 Crore which is a drop from last Friday by 58%. But, still is quite higher than many other films which enter the 4th week. Overall, Kabir Singh has managed to earn Rs 249 Crore nett at the box office and is still going strong.
Helmed by Sandeep Vanga, the film is a Hindi remake of Arjun Reddy starring Vijay Deverakonda. Post crossing Rs 200 Crore, the team celebrated in Mumbai with a huge party. Shahid’s biggest success came from the dark character he played in Kabir Singh and he even mentioned the fact in his thank you note for fans. The film has managed to rake in big bucks in most circuits and in Mumbai circuit, it might even overtake the 4th week business of Uri: The Surgical Strike.
