EXCLUSIVE: Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani, Pooja Hegde; Who’ll play lead actress in Chatrapathi’s Hindi remake?

The original Chatrapathi was helmed by SS Rajamouli and had Prabhas in the lead. The Hindi version will be headlined by Bellamkonda Sreenivas

Even before Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, SS Rajamouli and Prabhas had collaborated on the 2005 Telugu actioner, Chatrapathi. The film was later remade in Bengali and in Kannada. In November last year, a Hindi remake of this film was announced with Bellamkonda Sreenivas headlining the cast. Reportedly, the Hindi film is being directed by VV Vinayak, while filmmaker Jayantilal Gada is backing the project. Pinkvilla now has a new update on the film’s leading lady. A source close to the development informs that the makers have approached Shraddha Kapoor, Disha Patani and Pooja Hedge to play the leading lady, and one of them will be cast soon.

“The makers plan to start shooting from April and depending on the actress’ dates they will zero down on the final cast. The film will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule and will apparently be made on a budget of 75 crore. It is being scripted by Rajamouli’s father K V Vijayendra Prasad, while Sajid Samji is penning the Hindi dialogues. Sreenivas has already shifted to Mumbai and has started prepping for the film. Currently, he is focusing on building  an appropriate physique to play the character,” adds the source.

Interestingly, Bellamkonda Sreenivas had made his acting debut with V V Vinayak’s Telugu film Alludu Seenu, and the actor will be launched in Hindi cinema too with Vinayak’s directorial. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor is presently busy with Luv Ranjan’s next also starring Ranbir Kapoor. She also has Nagin lined up.

Disha Patani has Radhe and Ek Villain Returns in the pipeline, while Pooja Gegde has the Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam ready for release. She will also be seen in the Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus.
