Every Friday, cinema goers in the country get a chance to head to the theatres to enjoy a new movie. This Friday, the choices of the films with the viewers included the newly released action film starring Vidyut Jammwal in the lead, Commando 3, Disney’s Frozen 2 and John Abraham, Arshad Warsi starrer Pagalpanti. While for Frozen 2 and Pagalpanti this was the second Friday. All three films took on each other and represented a different genre. While Frozen 2 is a children’s film, Commando 3 was in the action genre and Pagalpanti is a comedy movie.
Coming to the box office collection, Vidyut’s action flick managed to start on a decent note. The film managed to rake in Rs 4.75 nett in terms of the box office collection of first Friday. Commando 3 did well in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam and Odisha. On the other hand, Frozen 2 by Disney managed to rake in Rs 1.50 Crore nett at the ticket windows which was an increase from Thursday’s collection. The film has seen a drop in the weekdays however, on second Friday, Frozen 2 managed to hold well.
Coming to John, Arshad, Anil Kapoor starrer Pagalpanti, the film has had quite a poor run since its release and it continued throughout the weekdays. On its second Friday, Pagalpanti collected Rs 60 lakhs nett and the total collection has come to around Rs 29 crore nett. As per box office India’s report, the film has faced a drop of 90 per cent from Day 1’s collection on second Friday. It will be interesting to see how the films perform over the weekend. For Commando 3, its the first weekend while for Frozen 2 and Pagalpanti, it’s the second.
In the upcoming week, two big films will be clashing including Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Panipat and Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh. It will be interesting to see how Commando 3, Pagalpanti and Frozen 2 are able to perform till next Friday’s release. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
