One of the most iconic heroines of Bollywood, Sridevi, was born on 13 August 1963. Having worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films, Sridevi started her career as a child artist. While she made her debut as a child artist in Bollywood with the movie Julie (1975), she made her debut as a leading actress in Bollywood with Solva Sawan (1978). Thereafter, Sridevi continued to reign the industry with blockbuster movies such as Himmatwala, Mr. India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz, Lamhe, Khuda Gawah, and many more. In 1996, Sridevi married Boney Kapoor and the couple has two children, Jhanvi and Khushi. After a 15-year-long hiatus, Sridevi returned to the screen with Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish and became the only actress in Hindi cinema to make a successful comeback. In 2013, the Government of India conferred the Padma Shri to the actor.
