- Biography: An overweight Sonakshi lost close to 30Kgs before she made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 film Dabangg. Sonakshi Sinha, born on 2 June 1987, is the daughter of actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. After studying fashion designing, Sonakshi Sinha became a costume designer, having designed the costumes for films like Mera Dil Leke Dekho (2005). But as fate had it, Sonakshi was destined to follow in the footsteps of her father and therefore, entered the film industry to pursue her acting career. Sonakshi Sinha is a self-confessed animal lover, and she was also part of a PETA campaign advocating the adoption of dogs and cats. Besides acting, Sonakshi has released her debut single ‘Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai’ in 2015. Plus, Sonakshi Sinha made her Kollywood debut opposite Rajnikanth in KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa. Sonakshi Sinha is an avid painter and in her pastime, often, paints at home.
