Mr. India is a Hindi-language superhero movie from 1987 directed by Shekhar Kapur. The film features Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Amrish Puri in lead roles. The storyline follows a violinist and philanthropist named Arun Verma, who acquires a device that can make him invisible. When he rents out his house to pay his debts, he meets Seema Sohni, a journalist whom he falls in love with. Meanwhile, there is a criminal mastermind named Mogambo who wants to conquer India. Mogambo is known for his catchphrase, Mogambo khush hua, which his henchmen use to show their obedience towards him. Arun, on the other hand, rents a large, old house to take care of ten orphans and struggles to make ends meet. He decides to rent out a room to Seema, who becomes his friend. Eventually, Arun falls in love with Seema. Arun Verma, a humble violinist, and philanthropist receives a letter from a family friend, Professor Sinha, revealing that his late father, a renowned scientist, had invented a cloaking device that could make its user invisible. Since Arun is his father's only son, he is responsible for completing the protocols and signing the paperwork to patent the device. Seeing this as an opportunity, Arun immediately devises a plan to retrieve the device from his father's old laboratory with the help of his ward. When the device is activated, it makes the wearer invisible unless a red light is focused on them. Arun decides to keep the device a secret and keep it for himself. After a few months of staying in Arun's rented house, Seema gets invited to a fancy party. As a substitute for a famous Hawaiian dancer who couldn't make it, she performs a song at the party. However, she gets into trouble when some criminals mistake her for a spy and try to kill her. Arun rushes to her aid and uses his invisibility device to save her life. He reveals himself to the criminals as Mr. India, a mysterious hero who has been fighting against injustice and crime in the city. The rest of the story forms the film.
