Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se Box office collection day 1: The Deol trio starrer gets a poor opening
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se Dharmdendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol in the lead roles got released this Friday and has registered a poor box office collection on day 1. Read on.
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is the third installment in the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise and a sequel to Yamla Pagla Deewana 2. The trio of Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol teamed up yet again for this laughter-riot. Apart from the Deols, Kriti Kharbanda also stars as one of the leads in the movie. The only film which is pitting against Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree. Both the movies released on Friday but Stree is doing well than YPDPS. The latter has registered a poor opening, according to Box office India.
The movie has got a mere 10-15 % opening as compared to 25% opening which Stree registered. The first movie in the franchise was released in 2011 and was a box office hit. The second movie was a failure at BO as well as got flak from critics. As per reports, the third movie has been made due to huge satellite deal of Rs 27 crore. The price though huge can justified as the first movie was a hit and the second one had got a decent response. But this one being repetitive of the first two is making things harder for makers to earn well at BO.
The makers also didn’t take much effort to promote their movies as well. The only buzz of the movie was created when the song Rafta Rafta which stars Sonakshi Sinha, Salman Khan and Rekha along with Dharmendra was launched. The song which is recreated from the film Kahaani Kismet Ki was an instant hit on social media. For the unversed, the movie is directed by Navaniat Singh and produced by Pen India Ltd.
