Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga starts off like a conventional love story with a wedding scene and a Punjabi family attempting to match their daughter with a faithful man. Sweety (Sonam Kapoor) is a gullible and ignorant woman with a secret that is eroding her daily under pressure from everyone, even her own brother. She is raised by the Moga ka Mukesh Ambani Balbir Chaudhary, a traditional yet loving father. Sahil Rizwan (Rajkummar Rao), a struggling dramatist looking for inspiration, is the next character we meet. The siyappa appears when Sweety and Rizwan have an accidental encounter that leads the Chaudhary family to believe they are in love. Sweety's secret, however, alters the entire plot of the film.

As Sahil proclaims to a packed theatre crowd to see his play from the heart and not the mind, I would say watch Ek Ladki with both your heart and mind and you'll be left with a broader mindset as that is something which India truly requires.
