The Indian Criminal Justice hits its stride by the mid-point when the rape and murder case is being fought in court. The series is most interesting when the drama moves away from the melodrama of Aditya’s family into the court and the jail. Criminal Justice works because of the story and its two central characters. The viewer is invested enough in knowing what happens to them at the end. But it is also far too long, and a little too safe and familiar in the way the subject has been treated and Indianised.
