Actor Vidya Balan had recently expressed her desire to play the legendary actor Charlie Chaplin on-screen, when she was invited at the inauguration ceremony of an exhibition held in memory of the iconic actor.
At the inauguration, Vidya had admitted, “I loved Sridevi as Charlie Chaplin in ‘Mr India’and I'd love to attempt Charlie Chaplin too. He has been a huge inspiration.”

Actress Vidya Balan features as a 'sutradhar' along with four TV stars of Bengal in a music video, aimed at making the audience understand that judging a woman on the basis of her appearance is trivial.
The video, by Nihar Naturals, explores a group of masked women dancing without any reservations on the streets of Kolkata with the masks depicting equality. However, the women then reveal their true identity. Vidya is seen in the video with actresses Aparajita Ghosh, Tumpa Gosh, Madhumita Sarkar and Sudipta Chakraborty.

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who has flaunted Indian saris on global platforms, says she has been urged to endorse the handlooms of Madhya Pradesh, but nothing has been finalised as of now.
Earlier reports suggested that the National Film Award winner was approached by the state's cultural ministry to be the brand ambassador for its handlooms.
"Nothing has been decided so far." Vidya told IANS when asked about this.

Vidya Balan, known for her portraying some strong and powerful women-centric roles in Indian Cinema feels sad seeing the disparity in pay cheques of male and female actors.
She told Hindustan Times, “You know, I feel that there is still a lot of disparity in the pay cheques of male and female actors. If there is one thing I could change about the industry, I think it’d be this disparity. The female actors should also get an equally fat cheque.”
