Salman Khan's Sultan has hit the screens today and the advance booking for the movie has created history. The movie has earned sales worth INR 22-23 crores, way ahead of the record set by Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which was around INR 15 crores. This is the highest amount ever collected in pre-release sales.

The advance of Sultan is higher than Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in totality and also for the first day which probably means the opening day record of INR 39.16 crores nett is going to fall and the question by tomorrow evening should be by how much. The bonus will be the benchmark of 40 crore nett is toppled.

Sultan will be aiming to become the first film to cross the INR 40 crores nett mark, which PRDP failed to create on opening day. However, since the Eid holiday in India has been shifted to Thursday, there is a high possibility that the movie won't fare well on Day 1 and instead will perform better on Day 2.

We shall have to wait and watch!
