Ali Abbas Zafar's Sultan has opened exceptionally well at the box office. The film opened to almost 70% occupancy in the morning shows, with the evening shows picking up better. But this was expected of the Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer, since the movie created history in pre-record sales.

The film has kept the ticket window ringing all over in North, Rajasthan and CI. The collections in most places are historic while UP has collections that are unheard of. Pockets like West Bengal and Mysore, which generally open poor for a Salman film, have also received huge response.

Given that the initial shows have received such grand opening, it wouldn't be surprising to see the movie earn INR 40 crores on its opening day, which in itself is a record of sorts. In fact, looking at the buzz, even an opening of INR 45 crores wouldn't be surprising.

The Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer has also got highest advance booking in UAE. The exact numbers are yet awaited.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj Films, Sultan hit the screens today!
