Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a movie that tells the story of an Indian warrior who was one of the greatest in the country's history. The story takes place in the year 1664, during a time when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the ruler of the Marathas, was engaged in a difficult battle against the Mughals, led by Emperor Aurangzeb. Despite putting up a valiant fight, Shivaji Maharaj eventually decided to sign a treaty when the situation became too challenging for the Marathas. As part of the agreement, Shivaji Maharaj agreed to give up 23 forts to the Mughals, which included the strategically important Kondhana Fort. After some years, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj decides to reclaim Kondhana Fort, which he had earlier handed over to the Mughals as part of a treaty. This was because he discovers that the fort is being controlled by Udaybhan Rathod, an evil military officer sent by Emperor Aurangzeb. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj believes that his loyal and brave Subedar Tanaji Malusare is the best person to lead this mission. However, he keeps this plan a secret from Tanaji. Despite being occupied with his son's wedding, Tanaji discovers the operation to recapture the Kondhana fort from the Mughals, led by the cruel Udaybhan Rathod. Tanaji is determined to take up the mission and requests Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to let him go. Shivaji Maharaj eventually agrees, and Tanaji postpones his son's marriage. With his strategic planning, Tanaji sets out on a mission to retake the fort and create a significant mark in history. The rest of the film depicts the thrilling journey of Tanaji and his team's efforts to reclaim the Kondhana fort from the Mughals.

Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a cinematic tribute to the valor and patriotism of Tanaji Malusare, a Koli-Maratha warrior, who was entrusted by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to recapture the Kondhana (Sinhagad) Fort from the grips of Mughals. The film showcases the Battle of Sinhagad, a sinister plot to pit a Hindu against a Hindu, testing the military and strategic competence of both Generals. The story primarily traces the life of Tanaji, who halts his son's wedding preparations to fulfill his call of duty. The film fires from all cylinders and is a visual treat with well-choreographed war sequences, background score, music, and VFX. Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan exhibit a competitive battle of credible actors, making it one of Ajay Devgn's finest performances. The music and background score cause an adrenaline rush, and the film keeps buzzing in the audience's mind even after leaving the theater. Overall, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a must-watch for those who appreciate cinematic brilliance and the history of India's brave warriors.
