Vikram Vedha is a movie about a cop named Vikram, played by Saif Ali Khan, who is trying to capture a notorious gangster named Vedha, portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, who is based in Lucknow and has committed 16 murders. The police have created a Special Task Force (STF) to finish Vedha and his gang. They receive a tip that Vedha’s gang members are hiding in an abandoned structure, and the STF, including Vikram and his best friend Abbas, go there with the intention of killing them. The STF eliminates everyone present, including one gangster, Muni, who was ready to surrender and even offered a bribe for his life. However, Vikram, being an honest cop, kills him. As the cops check the crime scene, they realize that one guy who was killed had no weapon in his possession and was likely innocent. Vikram tells his colleagues to plant a weapon in his hand and make it seem like he fired at the cops, to avoid getting into trouble. Vedha was not present at the scene, so the hunt to find him continues. One day, the cops receive a tip about Vedha's whereabouts, but before they could leave to kill him, Vedha walks into the police station and surrenders. The STF members interrogate him, but he remains tight-lipped. When Vikram sits opposite him, Vedha asks him to hear his story. Vedha takes Vikram back to 13 years ago when he used to work for a Kanpur-based criminal named Parshuram and how he won his trust. He also talks about his brother Shatak, and his childhood friend Chanda, and what made him commit his first murder. Vedha puts Vikram in a dilemma as his story changes Vikram's perception of good and evil. Unfortunately for Vikram, before he could hear more stories from Vedha, Vedha secures bail. The lawyer who gets it done is Priya, who is also Vikram’s wife. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
