Box Office Report: Kapoor & Sons Goes Stronger, Records Highest Weekend Opening Overseas

Karan Johar’s family drama Kapoor & Sons starring Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Fawad Khan has received rave reviews; both from the critics and audiences. The film has managed to earn INR Rs 26.35 Cr over the weekend. The film earned  INR Rs 6.5 Cr on Friday, INR Rs 7.25 Cr on Saturday and INR Rs 11.75 Cr on Sunday.

In the international circuit, the film has raked INR Rs 19.3 Cr in its opening weekend. The film has minted INR Rs 6.47 Cr in the USA, INR Rs 2.35 Cr in Pakistan and INR Rs 5.54 Cr in the Middle East. The Worldwide number for the film is INR Rs 52-53 crore approx.

Shakun Batra’s directorial, Kapoor & Sons is a bold and emotional take on the nitty-gritty issues of a family faced on a day-to-day basis. The film opened to a decent start and picked up business over the weekend, owing to the positive word of mouth.

Looks like, it’s happy days ahead for the Kapoor family at the ticket window.
