Ajith starrer Viswasam and Rajinikanth starrer Petta, which released on the same day during Pongal, are nowhere stopping to earn huge at the Box office. Both the films are on money minting spree even after 10 days of their release. According to trade analysts, Viswasam has managed to collect over Rs 125 crore, while Petta has crossed Rs 150 crore mark at the global box office. However, Petta is doing better than Viswasan in the international markets. In the USA, Petta is witnessing a huge lead over Viswasam since day one.
According to buzz on the social media, Petta has collected Rs 75 crore at the Tamil Nadu box office while Thala Ajith starrer has grossed Rs 86 crore, taking advantage of being a home place. In Chennai, Rajinikanth starrer has already earned Rs 11 crore. Trade analysts Ramesh Bala tweeted, “Twin achievements for #Petta at the #Chennai City Box office..At the end of yesterday, enters the 10 Cr Club and All-Time Top 10 in #Chennai City..#Superstar @rajinikanth has the most no. of entries in the Rs 10 Cr Cross #Chennai City Club – 5.”

Viswasam and Petta released on the same day, 10th January 2019 and are giving tough competition to each other at the Box office. Both, Ajith Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer opened to good response and there is no looking back. It remains to see how well and far the films perform in the coming days.
