EXCLUSIVE: Don 3 will have to be written by Farhan (Akhtar) whether he directs it or not – Shah Rukh Khan
So far, Shah Rukh Khan has donned the role of Don twice and he would love to play the character again provided Farhan Akhtar, the writer-director of the film at least pens the script of the third franchise. “Farhan has not written Don 3yet, there is nothing on the cards with Don 3. Don 3 will have to be written by Farhan whether he directs it or not, that is up to him. So, there are two things, he should write it and I should be Don. But neither has he written it nor I am playing Don yet,” said Shah Rukh, few days back in an exclusive interview to Pinkvilla.
Farhan, who has been busy promoting his upcoming film, Wazir these days, recently said that he doesn’t have a script ready yet for part three of the successful franchise. However, Farhan did indicate that it will be Shah Rukh who will reprise Don’s character but didn’t offer any confirmation on Priyanka Chopra and the other star cast. When asked if the original pair Shah Rukh and Priyanka Chopra will reprise their roles, Farhan had said, “I don’t have a script ready yet. So, it will be difficult to tell who will be in it. Don (SRK) will definitely be in it. Apart from that I don’t know. It will depend on what characters are written.”
Admitting his love for Don’s character, Farhan had further said, “I enjoyed that character tremendously. He is a very exciting character to write. Also I had a tremendous time working with Shah Rukh so hopefully something will come along but I don’t have a plan yet.”
