Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, starring Sonakshi Sinha, Diana Penty, Jimmy Sheirgill, Jassie Gill and Piyush Mishra in the lead roles, has hit the screens today and has opened to mixed response. Some critics are like it a ‘pointless pursuit of happiness’ while others are raving about the concept that does tickle your funny bone. But as the trend, it’s the box office numbers that decide the fate of any film - whether it’s a hit or a flop or an average outing.
Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel, in a conversation with Times Now, predicted about the day 1 at the box office for the film. He is of the view that film might not open to huge numbers as it has created a buzz per se. “To be very honest, I don’t think the film has created enough buzz to become a success at the box-office. Its lead actress Sonakshi Sinha has not had a proper hit in the last many years and going by her track record at the box-office, I don’t see this film working. Over and above, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is bound to face tough competition from Gold and Satyameva Jayate,” said Sumit. 
He even went on to add the film might also earn in lacs on its opening day. “At maximum, the film will earn Rs 1 crore on its opening day. I don’t see it going beyond that. The business may even be in lacs,” said the trade expert.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi, written and directed by Mudassar Aziz, is the sequel to the 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi. The first instalment earned Rs 28 crore in its total run. It will be interesting to how the part two will fare at the box office.
