Luka Chuppi Box Office Collection Day 1: Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's movie gets a flying start

Luka Chuppi starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon is off to a flying start on its opening day. The movie produced by Dinesh Vijan revolves around the concept of live-in relationships and it is also the first time that Kartik and Kriti are have come together to share the screen on celluloid. The movie, which released alongside Sonchiriya, has opened to Rs 8.01 crores figures which is huge for Kartik.
Despite mixed response to the movie from the audiences and critics alike, the film has a strong word of mouth and is expected to grow on Saturday. The movie performed well in all sectors including the smaller circuits. The film has collected more than Badhaai Ho, Stree, Raazi and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety which were the small-medium films that did very well last year. The film released in around 2,000 screens pan India and considering both Kartik and Kriti are not many films old, it’s a good start for the pair.
In any case, the movie will be a win win for the makers as it has already recovered costs pre-release through non theatrical rights. 
Meanwhile, Kartik is all set to star alongside Sara Ali Khan in Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2. The actor is very excited about it, obviously. He shared, "He is one of my favourite filmmakers and I have always wanted to work with him. I am glad it’s finally happening."
