Box Office Report: Fair weekend for 'Singh Is Bliing', 'Talvar' does decent
Prabhudheva's 'Singh Is Bling' starring Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson and Lara Dutta in lead roles, has had a fair first weekend. The film performed well in Delhi / UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan and CI but rest of the circuits have been average with Mysore and Tamil Nadu / Kerala being poor.
According to Box Office India, SIB collected Rs. 14.50 crores on Sunday, taking the opening weekend total to Rs. 45.25 crores.
Though its Monday collections will matter the most as it will help decide how well the film does ahead, 'Singh Is Bliing' has already had the fourth highest opening weekend worldwide for 2015 with a total of Rs. 77 crores, after 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' with Rs. 187 crore, 'Welcome Back' which did Rs.90 crore and 'Brothers' with Rs. 81 crores.
'Talvar' on the other hand, had a decent weekend with a good trend. The film collected Rs. 3.50 crores on Sunday, taking the grand total to Rs. 9.50 crores including paid previews.
