Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's Badrinath Ki Dulhania has been unstoppable. The movie in its second weekend has fared very well, making it the biggest hit of 2017 and the first super hit of the year.

The Shashank Khaitan directed affair earned INR 7.25 crore on Sunday, taking the second-weekend collection to INR 17 crore. With this, the grand total of Badrinath Ki Dulhania stands at INR 88.75 crore nett.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania has now become the biggest hit of 2017 and the first super hit film of 2017. It has also recorded the highest second weekend of 2017 after it beat Akshay Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 that earned INR 15.75 crore. At this pace, the movie will eventually end up being the second highest grossing film of 2017, after the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees

Varun-Alia's Badrinath Ki Dulhania has beaten Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam's Kaabil in 10 days flat and is likely to beat Jolly LLB 2 by the end of its run. Given that BKD is made at a 50% lower cost than Kaabil and Jolly LLB 2, and 65% lesser than Raees, it will be higher in terms of profit.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson and Dan Steven's Beauty and the Beast has had a fair weekend. The movie earned INR 2.75 crore on Sunday, taking the three-day total to INR 6.65 crore

The film witnessed a 97% growth from its Friday collections on Sunday. BATB's opening weekend collections are almost three times higher than Cinderella, Moana and Zootopia.
