Box Office Report: Bajirao Mastani overtakes Dilwale's India collections in 10 days!
When two of the biggest films - Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were set to release on the same day, many advised the respective filmmakers to not clash as that would result in the business getting divided.
And while the makers of Dilwale were adamant from budging, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and team were confident of their product, despite in the past SRK's film doing well as compared to SLB's movie, when they released together back in 2008.
However, things have been different this time. Though Dilwale enjoyed a great opening, Monday onwards the film suffered a massive drop. On the other hand, Bajirao Mastani picked up from Monday and the word of mouth worked in its favour.
Now, in its second weekend, Bajirao Mastani's business has not been much affected whereas Dilwale has dipped further. In its 2nd weekend, Bajirao Mastani earned INR 12 crores on Friday, INR 10 crores on Saturday and INR 11.75 crores on Sunday making a grand total of INR 120.45 crores in 10 days. Interestingly, this is the second highest 2nd weekend collections, the best one being the one recorded by Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Dilwale has grossed INR 20.25 crores in its second weekend, after witnessing a drop of almost 68%. Going by the 2nd weekend collections, the movie has earned INR 7.25 crores on Sunday, taking the film's total collection to INR 118.25 crores.
After 10 days of the release, Bajirao Mastani has finally managed to overtake the India collections of Dilwale. With no other film releasing in the coming weekend, both films stand further chance to perform well at the Box Office.
