Box Office Report: Bajirao Mastani has second highest 2nd Week Collections, Dilwale is Fourth
Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale released on the same day but things have changed after 14 days of the films hitting the screens. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus has superseded Dilwale and has collected INR 138.5 crores in two weeks as opposed to INR 126.75 crores of the Rohit Shetty movie, maintaining a lead of INR 12.75 crores.
In its second week, Bajirao Mastani earned INR 54.5 crores and registered a drop of just 35% from week one. Today, the film has the second highest second week collections in 2015 after Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Interestingly, the Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer is the only film apart from Bajrangi Bhaijaan to have crossed the INR 50 crores mark in its second week. The film has also earned the spot of fifth highest second week collections of all times after PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots.
Meanwhile, Dilwale, which has entered the list of highest foreign grosser in 10 days, collected INR 31.25 crores in its second week, which is the fourth highest second week total of 2015 after Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Bajirao Mastani and Tanu Weds Manu Returns. The Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon starrer witnessed a drop of 67.5% week on week but continued to perform well in West Bengal circuit where it collected INR 10.50 crores, which is the seventh highest total there.
With both the films having no competition in the third week too, it would be interesting to see where do the lifetime collections of these films end.
