The Rock and Jason Statham starrer Hobbs & Shaw is hitting it out of the park as it's the No. 1 movie at the box-office. Globally, the film is minting money thanks to the action-packed genre. Read below to find out how much the David Leitch directorial has earned so far.
Spearheading the first spin-off movie from The Fast and the Furious franchise is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Jason Statham. Bringing their respective characters, Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw together as the unlikely bromance of the year, Hobbs & Shaw promised an action extravaganza and it delivered in spades. Along with Dwayne and Jason, Hobbs & Shaw also stars Idris Elba as the main antagonist and Vanessa Kirby as Deckard's sister, who equally packs a punch! Roman Reigns makes his Hollywood debut with this David Leitch starrer while Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart have amazing cameos.
When it comes to the box-office numbers, The Rock and Statham will be incredibly happy as Hobbs & Shaw dominated in its opening weekend. In the US, the film collected $60.9 million which is quite impressive while overseas, the action flick collected $120 million in its opening weekend. These numbers don't include the China box-office figures, as Hobbs & Shaw is slated to release only on August 23, 2019. China is a huge box-office market for the F&F franchise. Both Furious 7 (2015) and Fate of the Furious (2017) collected over and under $393 million in China alone.
