PINKVILLA EXCLUSIVE: My best friend was Big Boss- Mandana Karimi
Now that Big Boss season 9 is over, the contestants are busy with thanking fans and meeting and greeting their beloved ones. But Mandana Karimi is one contender who has taken to work immediately after the Grand Finale of BB that was held a few days ago. The lady who is busy as a bee in promoting her just released Kya Kool Hai Hum 3, while in an exclusive tete a tete with Pinkvilla.com revealed her journey of Big Boss and also what has made the Iranian beauty stronger than before.
How did you deal being all alone in the house for 106 days?
I know that I am a very strong person and when I entered in the house felt that it was really tough! So after three weeks in the house I wanted to leave the house and break the contract. It was really negative. 24*7 hours of tough competition it was. But then Big Boss then told me that Your are a really strong girl and why are you letting people push you in a corner. They are scared of you. You are so strong and you should fight like a strong woman. No one in the house ever said that I was their competition. But I realized that Yes, I am their competition in every way. From then, I decided that I have to do it. My best friend was Big Boss and my strength was the nomination. Every week when I was saved, I understood that people are loving me. By the 10 -11th week I realized that was really strong. While no one inside the house liked me, People outside were supporting and loving me. Big Boss also said that Yeh show gharwalon ke bare mein nahi hai. Yeh show bahar walo ke baare min, janta ke baare mein hai. agar woh aapko save karrahe hai matlab janta aapko pasand karti hai.
With you having survived every week's nomination, audiences considered the makers and the channel of the show to be biased towards you. What do you have to say about that?
I dont think so. The show is about getting saved by people from the nominations, but it is first actually to save ourselves from nominations. Prince had made his supporters in the form of friends. He had 6-7 people right from the beginning. Hence, he was not getting nominated. but everybody in the house was against me and I am getting nominated, it cant be something pre-planned. Before I entered in the show, I was told that the show is scripted by many people. Even Rimi had said that she had thought the same. But its not. Everyone has to battle their own fight. Going according to what people were saying, I should have been the winner but Prince won. So things cant be planned.
Personally, do you think Prince really deserved to be the winner show?
In life what you get, you deserve it. For Prince it was always important to win the title. I went to Big boss to win hearts. To make people love me for who I am and not because I am pretty, hot or sexy! i wanted to people to know that I am strong and I have got that. So for me, I am the winner. As far as Prince is considered, he deserves the title. He is a good hearted guy.
During Festivals, it was probably only you who did not receive any gifts from family. How did you deal with it?
During Diwali and other festivals, I was probably the only participant who did not get goodies from the family. I was really disheartened and sad. But now that I am out of the house and got back all my stuff that was deposited with Endemol as per contracts, I saw that there were some notes from my family and friends. They had sent to Big Boss to send it to me during the festive seasons. Even Balaji Telefilms had sent me a clutch where Tusshar and everyone had signed it on for me. But you know what, I am very grateful to Colors and Endemol that they did not give the stuff to me. When I was deprived of the family's love, that was what made me turn into a more stronger person. I have no negative feelings about them at all. When I did not receive cards. calls or any kind of love from my family, it eventually made me turn into a more stronger person! On social media, my fans have been showering me with love in abundance. I am so overwhelmed and this made me cry last night. No one liked me in the house, but outside everybody was loving me.
Name one person whom you will not want to staying touch with?
well, I will stay in touch with everyone! I think Ill be good friends with Kishwar and Suyyash. They are really sweet. Last few weeks in BB, I and Kishwar had a developed a good equation with each other. I also felt really bad when Kishwar had to leave the house midway during her task with Prince.
Any regrets?
Well, I just wished I was more calm and handled the situations with love and patience rather than yelling and fighting!
How will you describe your entire BB journey in one sentence?
A Life Changing experience!
So have you seen your movie?
I have not seen the movie yet. I am out promoting it. But probably by tomorrow or day after I am holding a special screening for Big Boss 9 contestants.
Which other projects are you currently working on?
Well, as of now I am promoting my movie. apart from it, I have a two film contract with Balaji. There are offers, but as of now nothing has been decided.
