I don't lose sleep over my Instagram followers. So once I take up a character, I will be doing whatever the role demands me to do. I don't make a big deal of these things in my head.

One elegance personified lady of telly ville who believes in talking her mind at any given point of time, is Kritika Kamra. The poised actress who is all set to essay the iconic role of Chandrakanta with a pinch of today's modernness, chose to not mince words while talking to us about her  upcoming show.

The actress answered to all the questions with much class and chose to follow her trait, of calling spade, a spade!

Tell us something about this show.

This is India's very own fantasy series, You can call it as our own princess diaries since we don't have that. We don't have any of our Indian rajkumaris. It's based on a novel. It's visually a very different show considering the storyline and VFX too. I realized that the way its shot and the language, is very different. My character is that of a titular one of a rich princess who is the most beautiful girl. So you will see a lot of people fighting over her. Everybody wants her and all of it but what does she want is the question. She is attracted to this one guy with whom she feels there is a spark. Here are a lot of super powers and all of it. There are a lot of American shows based on similar lines and we are attempting to do something of that sort.

There has been a similar show way back in the 90s. Do you feel any pressure of living upto the iconic show?

The pressure is that people will expect this show to be as iconic as the previous one.  But the positive part is that the adaptation is made keeping in mind that era. But the love story is very todays. Its an interesting mix.

There is also another Chandrakanta in the making helmed by another production house!  Do you feel competition will soon take place?

We are literally shooting every day and night. There's hasn't been enough time to think of competition and all. There are certain subjects that are adapted again and again, so what! and as long as we are doing our best and its being appreciated and if not then doing it right, till then  I don't think it matters. It's just that we need to put our heads down and do our rightful job.

What special measures have you taken to fit into the shoes of Chandrakanta?

Its just about growing wise. I have stared taking care of myself. While shooting everything's erratic and crazy. Everything is haywire, so its very important that I look a certain type. The look of my character wanted me to take these measures. They didn't wanna make the character look lean or something. They wanted it to look very Indian. So I hope that I do justice to the beautiful costumes and the way they are shooting. Because TV is a lot of commitment so you cannot mould yourself just for a small bit of time.

Are you open to playing Super-fictional characters?

Turning into an animal is not my thing. I won't be able to relate nor comfortable while playing it. I am not taking it away from such shows because the fact that they are doing so well means there are people who love watching. But the genre has never excited me. I think this is as far as I can go considering fantasy right now.

Is Bollywood on cards soon?!

TV is large medium in itself. I want to be an actor who has worked in all forms, theater, films, web, TV. I want to do things as long as they are exciting and meaty. I wont do a film just for the heck of it. I will do it only when I know I can bring something back to the table. Lets see.

Despite the terrific reach of TV, Bollywood is still considered far more superior! Whats your take?.

TV names are more relatable and are literally into your house everyday. But I think somewhere we as an industry have made ourselves secondary. We are to blame ourselves here.

So does it upset you?

Oh no! I am not yearning for fame. It is something that comes in a package along with my acting. I don't fret over such things because it doesn't bother me. I don't lose sleep over  my Instagram followers.

What attracts you more, Good Content or Good Money?

Good content.

Are you open to doing bold scenes on screen?

Well, they are not bold at all. The way its shot, they aren't being scandalized. All that the actors have on their mind is how to do the scene right. And once you have that on your mind, everything's sorted. I am comfortable in my own skin. So once I take up a character , I will be doing whatever the role demands me to do. I don't make a big deal of these things in my head.
