Vishal Bharadwaj's film Pataakha released on Friday last week. The film stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan and Sunil Grover in the lead roles. While this is Sanya's second film after Dangal (2016), this is Radhika's debut film in Bollywood. Radhika Madan is a television actress and has been a part of a successful and popular TV show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se hi in which she starred along Shakti Arora. Pataakha released alongside Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's Sui Dhaaga.

Sanya and Radhika starrer received mixed reviews, mostly positive. It's an analogy on the relationship between India and Pakistan shown with a tale of two sisters Champa and Genda who can't live without fighting with each other. Actor Vijay Raaz plays their father in the film and he is superb as always. On the first day, Pataakha made a collection of Rs 90 lakhs. It was released in 875 screens in the country.

Talking about the weekend collections, the film has collected Rs 3.80 crore approx at the box office in the domestic market. Thus, showing a very slow growth.

Sui Dhaaga, on the other hand, had a good weekend and made a weekend collection of Rs 36.50 crores approx.

However, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree, which was released on August 31, 2018, is still going strong at the box office and had a strong Friday.

Well, let's see how much the Pataakha manages to collect in the current week.
