EXCLUSIVE: Akshay Kumar's web series The End to span over three seasons; read details

Last year saw Saif Ali Khan jump on the digital bandwagon with Sacred Games. Not only did it work tremendously well for the team, it also opened up bigger avenues for other A-list actors to follow suit. Now, Akshay Kumar too will be seen in a web series, which has just been announced. Titled The End, the project has been sanctioned by a leading OTT platform.
A source close to the development has given us a few exclusive details of the same. The insider informs, "It's an action adventure-based series and the theme completely suits Akshay's image. When the team was in the planning stage, the only actor they could think of was Akki. He's called the Khiladi for a reason, and with this show, he will be seen pulling off stunts on a level that has only been attempted on an international level."
While details about the show's narrative are tightly kept under wraps, the source adds, "It is being planned as a three-part series. As of now, the show will span across three years - each season having around six episodes (depending on the run-time of each episode). The first season will go on floors sometime this year, after Akshay wraps up work on the Kanchana remake. The superstar has given around a month to the OTT platform for its shoot. It is expected to premiere next year."
The team is also mounting it on a lavish scale. "Akshay will be allotting 30 days of shoot every year from now on, in between his movie schedules and promotions, to wrap up work on The End. Like Sacred Games, it will hit the digital platform once every year (in 2020, 2021 and 2022)." Knowing how Akshay follows a certain professional discipline and manages to finish his films at lightning speed, he will pull off a stunner with this one too.
