Manisha Koirala will be seen as the late legendary actress and Sanjay Dutt's mother Nargis Dutt in the actor's biopic, titled Sanju. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Manisha plays the onscreen mother of Ranbir, who steps into the heavy shoes of Dutt.

When Ranbir's first look as Sanju got leaked while they were shooting on the sets of the movie, everyone was left flabbergasted by his epic transformation. Manisha too was in awe of Ranbir's look and in an EXCLUSIVE interaction with Pinkvilla, the actress gushed about Kapoor.

Manisha shared, "I could not believe who's who! I was shocked at Ranbir's capacity to transform. I knew that Ranbir was easily one of the best actors we have but I didn't know that he will surpass himself. I am shocked beyond that. All the 4-5 generations of the Kapoor khandaan has blossomed into him to be this amazing actor. He's brilliant and there are no two ways about it. Hands down, he's the best for years to come. He'll be marvelled as an actor."

Manisha is amongst the list of actresses who have worked with all the three Khans of Bollywood namely Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. The trio has been branded with the title of 'SUPERSTAR'.

However, in today's generation, the idea of a 'superstar' has blurred. When we further quizzed Manisha on whether she feels Ranbir has what it takes to be a 'superstar', the humble actress said, "I have a feeling, Ranbir is out for a bigger game than just being a 'superstar'. Because 'superstar' is great; it has never attracted me. It has never made me crazy. Stardom has a lot of limitation but art has none. Art is forever growing, art stays. It doesn't die. At one time, the biggest star India had ever seen was Rajesh Khanna ji."

"For me, it's [stardom] there...enjoy it, have a great time when you have that. I see growth in art. I have been impressed with actors like Balraj Sahni ji and from role to role, he may not have ever been a 'star' but to me, he'll always be numero uno. I value that much more than what other people value, honestly. (laughs)," Manisha added.

When probed further on whether the 'superstar' tag does not exist anymore, Manisha stated, "This is an era where people want to excel in their work rather than keep a facade. I mean, it is okay to enjoy that. There's a good side to being a superstar, also. That's something to be enjoyed I feel. It's okay to have that but, today, some great performances are coming from the most unassuming people, who may not have screen presence for that matter. Who may not have a typical good-looking material but they're brilliant actors. You can't take your eyes off them once they are on the screen. Irrfan Khan for that matter, you have Rajkummar Rao. In this movie, you are going to have Vicky Kaushal. All his previous movies, whether it be Masaan or Lust Stories, he's brilliant and in Sanju, he is phenomenal. Today's generation is of good performances. It's also keeping with the fact that people are seeing world cinema and in world cinema, there's a value for good performances."

He is over hyped and grossly over paid inspite of giving flop films!!! He can definitely act and so can numerous others. He is nothing special.

"Superstar" is too big a word manisha, he is hardly a star, same for ranveer deepika piggybacker singh. Even newbie Tiger shroff is far far ahead of these 2 combined.please dont overhype, hurts the ear.

All these people critical of Ranbir are at dumb KATRINA salman deepikair fans

He is definetly the best we have..All the best RANBIR..love you

It's time Indians realize that acting is not about looking good until then bear with the Kaifs and the Salmans of the industry.

I do not understand why everybody is unnecessarily hyping Ranbir all the time. He is the most boring actor on screen.

I absolutely agree, i don't find him that great at all. Maybe borderline good, but not great. I have loved some of his scenes in some movies, but calling him a natural, so talented actor, I highly doubt it. Forget comparing him with someone close to Aamir or Amitabh, i don't think he has the power to reach where Salman or Srk or Hrithik have reached...he has been doing it for over 10 years now, he is a good looking kapoor boy and that's all to that.

This flop actress is clearly hyping Ranbir too much in the hope that Sanju succeeds!! Hence this unwarranted gushing on the eve of film's release.

This ugly creature’s time is up he needs to retire asap

he sure is, a good actor

Only overhype madam , we.audience are never connected to him. Just for some movie offers you are saying too much. He couldn't even beat young actors last few movies where simply uninteresting messy. You people are too.much hyping. Do you know what is versatility, this movie is more of a parady. He never brought profits to his distributors & producers. He is nit even a proper star yet due to his linkups.
