OMG 2 emerges a super-hit at the Indian box office (Credit: Viacom 18 Studios)
OMG 2 directed by Amit Rai and starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam has been cruising at the box office despite clashing with a box office giant like Gadar 2. The film has been steadily adding collections under its belt and that has resulted in it earning a super-hit verdict for itself. The verdict has come as a respite to Akshay Kumar whose last over half a dozen theatrical outings ended up having unfavourable theatrical results. OMG 2 has crossed the Rs 100 crore nett India mark on its 10th day and it is expected that by the end of its theatrical run, it will have done close to Rs 150 crores nett.
OMG 2 faced a lot of obstacles prior to its release. The film was certified A with 27 modifications. The delay in the certification didn't help makers plan a proper promotional campaign. Apparently, even the trailer of the film released after the advance bookings of OMG 2 went underway. As they say, all's well the ends well and that has been the case with this Amit Rai directorial. Since the film has been made at a very controlled budget, the producers will be making very huge profits on it.

OMG 2 is a spiritual sequel to the super-hit film OMG – Oh My God! The film focuses on the sensitive subject of sex education. Akshay Kumar essays the role of lord Shiva's messenger while Pankaj Tripathi plays the role of a believer of God. Yami Gautam reprises the role of an advocate that stands against Pankaj Tripathi's character.
