Journalist Samar Kumar, a regional Hindi news reporter, is dispatched to Godhra on February 27, 2002, to cover the devastating fire aboard the Sabarmati Express that killed 59 travellers. Initially treating the assignment as routine coverage, Samar is deeply affected upon witnessing the carnage firsthand. As he digs deeper, he uncovers troubling inconsistencies suggesting the blaze was a planned act rather than an accident. However, his efforts to publish the truth are blocked by his own news organization, which caves to political pressure. Years later, a younger journalist, Amrita Gill, reignites interest in Samar’s suppressed report, setting them on a joint mission to expose what really happened, even as powerful forces work to keep it buried.
