Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to a badminton player father and a travel agent mother. She grew up in Bangalore, India, and played badminton at the national level before pursuing a career in modeling and acting. Deepika made her acting debut in 2006 with the Kannada film Aishwarya and then moved to Hindi films with the 2007 film Om Shanti Om, which was a huge commercial success. She has since starred in several successful films like Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, and more. She has also won several awards for her performances, including three Filmfare Awards.

Padmaavat Controversy: In 2018, Deepika Padukone starred in the film Padmaavat, which faced controversy before its release. Some groups alleged that the film distorted historical facts and hurt the sentiments of the Rajput community. Deepika received death threats, and there were protests against the film's release. Drug Controversy: In 2020, Deepika's name came up in a drug probe related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Some media reports claimed that Deepika was among a few Bollywood celebrities who consumed drugs. She was summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau for questioning.
