Naseeruddin Shah was born in Barabanki and raised in Mumbai. He studied at the National School of Drama in Delhi and made his film debut with the film Nishant in 1975. He has acted in numerous critically acclaimed films such as Aakrosh, Masoom, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, and Ijaazat. He has also acted in international films such as The Great New Wonderful and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
