In a recent report by Mumbai Mirror, it was revealed that Karan Johar has finally given a green light for a sequel to Dostana (2008) which originally starred Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. The sequel will go on floors next year and the script will be locked by the end of the month. However, reports suggest that the original cast will be replaced as Karan wants to cast new actors for the sequel. Even Priyanka will not be reprising her role and instead, another A-list actress will be cast instead.

A few days back, in an EXCLUSIVE tête-à-tête with Pinkvilla, we asked John whether he would be up for a sequel of Dostana. To this, the actor gushed, "That's Karan's to look into. But, I would totally be up for it. I'm missing the yellow trunks. Probably, I'll change the colour of the trunks and longer hair." Who could forget John's long hair with those yellow trunks and greek god-like abs? Abhishek and John will surely be missed in the sequel.

We hope Karan Johar is listening and would have the original cast int he sequel, even if it is just a guest appearance. Before Dostana, John also spoke about how he is trying to convince Akshay Kumar to make a Garam Masala part 2. "I had spoken to him (Akshay) and said, 'we should do Garam Masala part 2. Akshay then said, 'Tu Likh!' (You write it!) (laughs)"

Which of his other movies would he like to see a sequel of? To this, John said, "Garam Masala. (laughs) Outside of Garam Masala, I'd love to do a sequel to Desi Boyz. Maybe even Dishoom. I think these are all sequel films. But in the action space, definitely Force. Force is the only lone standing action franchise that could become big. But, I've created my own now, Attack! That is something I am looking forward to."
