Golmaal Again has been the Diwali blockbuster that a lacklustre-filled 2k17 Bollywood desperately needed. With a stellar cast including the original Golmaal team - Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade and new additions - Parineeti Chopra, Tabu and Neil Nitin Mukesh, Rohit Shetty has once again concocted the perfect formula for a masala family entertainer.

As Golmaal Again continues its impressive streak at the box office, we got in touch with Parineeti Chopra for a candid tête-à-tête about Golmaal Again's humungous success, being a 100-crore club heroine as well as the prospect of starring in Golmaal 5.

Read some excerpts from the conversation below:

Golmaal Again has been a massive blockbuster at the box-office; how overwhelmed are you with the stupendous response?

The numbers for Golmaal Again are absolutely hysterical and unprecedented. We hoped that Golmaal Again would be a huge hit as the franchise has done so well over all these years but especially in a year like this, where movies have not done very well. When Golmaal Again has got this kind of an appreciation and these kinds of numbers where it is breaking records, it's absolutely overwhelming that I'm the heroine of this film. Everybody is saying, how does it feel to be a 100 crore heroine and I never expected I would be asked this kind of questions because I used to see it happen all around me where they were touching that number whether it be 200-300 crore. I never thought that this would happen so soon. I'm extremely grateful and happy. I can't believe that this film has become...it's a landmark film and I'm associated with it.

You had earlier revealed that your father was the biggest fan of the Golmaal franchise. How excited was he to see his daughter with the Golmaal gang?

It's amazing. These kind of small stories in my life are overwhelming. My dad, who watches Golmaal on repeat whenever it comes on TV and we never thought that I would be the heroine of Golmaal one day and I did become it. When he went and watched the film, he couldn't believe it. He was so involved in the film. There were moments he was so engrossed in that he called me and said, 'I can't believe that now when Golmaal Again is going to come on TV, you're going to be in it,' and it's such a surreal feeling for everybody around me. Even my closest friends, every film that comes out of mine, they track it with me, they are involved and they find out what's going on and they watch it. Now, they are so happy for me and we all celebrated together. It feels so beautiful.

As you mentioned earlier, how does it feel to be a part of the 100-crore club?

Initially, when all this started, I never used to think about all this. But, after a point, it does become a goal that one of your films should be that big because a 100 crore tag means that, that many people in India have connected with and appreciated your film. Yes, I wanted any one of my films to do humongous numbers as I also wanted people everywhere - kids, families and everybody to recognise and appreciate my work and that is what has happened. When I meet so many people whether it be at traffic signals or whenever they see me, they recognise me as Khushi, as the girl from Golmaal Again. That's a huge achievement for me. I want to be known by the masses and I'm so glad that the masses are watching this film.

Rohit Shetty had revealed to us that a Golmaal 5 will definitely happen; will you be up for it?

Of course! I would love to. It would be an amazing experience because more than Golmaal 5, I would want to be a part of any Rohit Shetty film honestly because he is my favourite director to work with. He's an amazing human being to work with. His team, his crew, his style of working, just every single thing is such a pleasure to work with that I would want to do any film of his. So, if Golmaal 5 is happening and if he thinks that I have a part that I can play in it, of course. I would never say no to Rohit Shetty. That's the bottom line.

This week was double the fun for you as you not only celebrated the success of Golmaal Again but also rung in your birthday in Goa; how did the celebrations go about?

This was the busiest birthday for me because I knew this March-April, that this was going to be the release date of our film and I always knew that, that weekend, would be my birthday weekend. So, I was always hoping that my birthday is a happy birthday because of Golmaal Again's success. Of course, it's incredible what has happened. On Friday night, when I spoke to Ajay and I spoke to Rohit while I was in Goa, I called both of them and they said our number is going to be beyond 30 crore. I couldn't believe it. We were expecting a 20-25 crore but obviously, it went beyond 30 crore and all of us were so happy that, that's the kind of number we are getting. From there only the celebration started and I had the greatest birthday weekend of my life.
