Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone has kickstarted the shoot of her upcoming release 'Chhapaak' in Mumbai now. The team wrapped up their Delhi schedule a few days ago and are all set for their next location. The film also features Mirzapur fame Vikrant Massey. The actress was often spotted on the sets at different locations in Delhi. In fact, a video of Vikrant and Deepika's kissing scene went viral on social media recently. Helmed by Meghana Gulzar, the team is really excited for this project. The movie is based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal who now is an activist and speaks for the rights of acid attack victims. Deepika has started working on the biopic of Laxmi, who was attacked at the minor age of 15 in 2005. Chhapaak is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 10, 2020. Deepika's first look of the film has already been revealed. It was highly appreciated as the resemblance of the look to the actual victim was uncanny.
When Laxmi was asked about her first reaction on seeing Deepika's look in Meghna Gulzar's film, she said, "I was happy to see Deepika's first look from the film. I was feeling good that a celebrity has come in that look.'' Laxmi further added, "A lot of make-up artistes changed a natural face to acid distorted face. And I felt, see, they are finding beauty in an acid-burnt face."
