Panipat VS Pati Patni Aur Woh Box Office Collection Day 1: Kartik, Ananya’s film beats Arjun, Kriti starrer
On Friday, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s period drama Panipat and Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh released. Here’s how much both films collected at the box office on Day 1.
Every Friday, Bollywood brings forth several films to entertain the audience. This Friday, two big films, Pati Patni Aur Woh and Panipat released. Panipat, starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in the leading role, is a period drama based on the 3rd battle of Panipat. On the other hand, starring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, Pati Patni Aur Woh is a comedy-drama. Both films are in different genres and hence, the battle at the box office has just begun.
As per Box Office India, on the opening day, Arjun and Kriti’s epic period film had an occupancy of around 8-10 per cent, which is low for an expensive film like Panipat. On the other hand, Kartik, Ananya and Bhumi’s light comedy managed to have a good start. Pati Patni Aur Woh had an opening box office occupancy of 20-25 per cent which is good for a film of this budget. Being a remake, Kartik, Ananya and Bhumi’s Pati Patni Aur Woh has managed to create a buzz among the audience and on social media.
Panipat, is based on a battle between Maratha warrior Sadashiv Rao Bhau, was expected to appeal to the Maharashtrian audience. However, as per the opening day occupancy reports, Panipat is off to a slow start. On the other hand, in Mumbai circuit, Kartik, Bhumi and Ananya’s Pati Patni Aur Woh has managed to have a good start at the ticket windows. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh is a remake of 1978 Sanjeev Kumar starrer. Panipat, on the other hand, is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker.
